How to import attachments stored in my local drive using CSV file?

Filip Philips February 21, 2024

I have a copy of attachments from different Jira Instance and I want to import them using CSV Importer to my instance JIRA DC.

I couldn't find information how to set property path for file which is stored in my local drive in CSV attachment column . The phrase below doesn't work.

Could you help me how refer to a file that is on the local disk?

Hi @Filip Philips , you need to be able to access the attachments via URL - create-issues-using-the-csv-importer

I am unaware of being able to import from local drive. Have you found info supporting this?

Here is an open issue that confirms this - https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-69952

No, I didnt found option about supporting import file from local drive.

So what is the other option to add attachments to tickets via CSV Importer?

For CSV imports you can only use a public accessible site via URL. You could look at the APIs if that was an option for you.

of course you could manually drag and drop them but that could be ugly. easier to move attachments to an ftp server I think.

Filip Philips February 21, 2024

It could be any of ftp server with public access?

Also if I tried to add some files which is public it also didn't work for example https://www.oclc.org/content/dam/oclc/dewey/versions/print/glossary.pdf it is not added to issue.

What exactly I should put in attachment column ?
