How to eliminate those tasks from 1st released version of project to be shown in the "new" version?

Vicki Zhang January 12, 2023

I created a version in a project, the version has been released.

I would like to create another version under the same project, how can I eliminate those tasks from the 1st released version so that it will not show in the "new" version when I click "... More --> Show done items, Expand all items"?

Hello @Vicki Zhang

You have posted your question in the community for the Jira Work Management product. Are you actually working with a Business/Work Management project in Jira, or are you working with a Software project?

Can you provide a screen image for where you are clicking the "...Move --> Show done items..." option?

What browser are you using?

Do you know if this happens to any other users?

Do any of the ideas in this post apply to your situation?

I'm working on a Work Management Project in Jira.

Please see screen image below.  When I click …More, then Show done items under List view ------- All the completed tasks from the 1st version will show again.  However, I'm ONLY want to see the 2nd version open/closed tasks.  Would there be a way to hide/eliminate the "old" tasks from the previous released version to be shown under List view again?

What browser are you using? Google Chrome

Do you know if this happens to any other users?  I'm the 1st one using this function in my group currently.

Do any of the ideas in this post apply to your situation? No

Thank you!

Thank you for that additional information @Vicki Zhang

There doesn't appear to be a native method to accomplish your goal. I'm not sure if there is a third party app that would help.

I did not find an item in Atlassian's backlog for this, but there may be one.

If you would like to contact Atlassian directly to ask about this function or submit it as a suggestion your can as your Jira Administrator to open a support case at
