Hello everyone.
I apologize if this question is duplicated; I have searched before but couldn't find if it has already been resolved.
I have noticed that, on the page of an Issue, when clicking on the description to select an item, it switches to editing mode. Without discussing whether this is usable or not, is there a way to deactivate this behavior?
Thanks!
Hi @Sergi Q , unfortunately, not, that is the implemented behavior, and cannot be configured. At least I have not found any means of accomplishing that.
Thank you, @Jack Brickey
Every day, the Jira interface is getting worse. I'm tired of receiving complaints from users who use our space: "Why I can't do that now", "how I can disabled this new behavior"... . Do you know any other alternative that is more user-friendly?
Thanks!,

There are probably many that are "more user-friendly". But I don't you will find one that is as powerful and flexible overall, especially at the price.

Hi @John Funk
Indeed, Jira might have a good price. However, sometimes it's preferable to pay a little more and avoid investing so much support team's time in dealing with these types of user inquiries. Ultimately, having to provide support ends up wasting the money of one person in attempting to solve these issues.
Anyway, I wanted to thank you for the time; We'll look at other options.
Greetings

I don't have another solution that I would recommend. It is very difficult to recommend any sort of application without fully understanding the requirements. This is something that only you and your team would be able to adequately accomplish. It would seem to me that the frequency in which a user wants to select something, I assume, for copying, would be relatively low. Moreover, having to deal with the automatic, edit mode, would seem to be a small issue. IMO. Regardless, every software application, that involves heavy you, I will invariably have shortcomings.

I just want to double-click something to copy it. Double-clicking a word - is a standard feature of any software. You may try it right now on this site. Why does JIRA think it may change things more global than JIRA? Invent you letters then, think about quadro-click etc.

As someone who is fed up with it, here is a Userscript that disables click-to-edit

It's clearly not going away and Atlassian are not producing an option to disable it.
