For Jira and Confluence Cloud, Atlassian utilises the snapshot feature of Amazon RDS (Amazon Relational Database Service) to create automated daily backups of each RDS instance. Amazon RDS snapshots are retained for 30 days with support for point-in-time recovery and are encrypted using AES-256 encryption. See https://www.atlassian.com/trust/security/data-management

Hi Fazila Ashraf, many thanks for response, 1 and 3rd point and links  are very helpful, 

need some clarity for 2nd point, so as a Jira admin we need to take backup or not in Jira cloud as Atlassian keeping backup of our Jira software database ? 

if yes then we can backup data manually by Jira cloud UI from admin console?

yes. You can do the backup in admin console.

Please click the Gear icon and go to System -> in "Import and Export" please use "Backup manager"
