How do I make a field required (in Next Gen Issue Type Task)?

I've added a number of custom fields in Tasks and Stories.

How do I make it so when a user creates a New Issues (using the + button) - the custom fields I want to make required/ mandatory shows up and one is unable to submit the New Issues until the required fields have been filled?

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

When it comes to required fields in next-gen projects, currently only Service Desk has this functionality for fields added to the customer portal. On Software next-gen projects it's not possible to add fields as required.
