For some reason, when I go to assign child issues inside an issue and choose "Existing Issue", it does not recognize any of my existing issues. I want to be able to move existing issues to chid issues if need be. Is this possible and what might be happening?

Hello Matt,
To add existing issues as a child of another, the issue must be a sub-task since it have some particularities not present in other issues. A Standard issue can not be added as a child of another standard issue.
Now, if you want to convert a standard issue as a sub-task of another standard issue, you can follow the steps below:
- Navigate to the issue you want to change as a sub-task > Click on Move:
- Click to move the issue to the same project but as a sub-task, selecting the parent issue you want

This is the right way to implement it so that the child issue can still be a story, a task, a bug or whatever the actual issue is.

Not sure I understand the reason for having to make the child item a "sub-task". Why can't we chose?

Yes! the lack of ability to do this is killing me. it means i have to do all sorts of weird labeling and linking to show appropriate relationships.

Meanwhile it should also be possible to ad tasks as child issues to epics by using the field parent. This way, there is no need anymore to convert the task into a sub-task.
