I work on an analytics team and we often get ad hoc requests for data queries from external stakeholders. Currently when we get these requests we create tickets for them in our Kanban board, but ideally we would like the stakeholders to submit their tickets themselves to our project which we can then prioritize in our Kanban board.
I realize Forms and Service Management are a thing, but we already have our Software project set up and enjoy the customizability of the Kanban board. Is this possible without having to create a brand new project and giving up the benefits of the Software type project?
Hey Shay! This is something that I have set up in the past.. there are certainly pros and cons of using an intake form to initiate issues into a Jira Software Board.
What I did: create a new JSM project and automate values presented in JSM into new issues within Jira Software. We've had a lot of success with this and have had a ton of learnings as well.
If you'd like, I'd be happy to setup some time for us to discuss over video call. I am not from Atlassian, but I enjoy talking to others about how to resolve issues like this.
Hi Troy, I really appreciate this offer and absolutely would like to take you up on it! Would you be able to meet sometime this week?
