Free development instance for JIRA

Matthew Chapman September 17, 2018

Does anyone know if the free development instance (cloud version) allow you to replicate your existing cloud production site? Or do you have to create your production site frome scratch under your development site ?

Please advise...

Thank you everyone

Matthew

Hello,

Have a look at this link. You will be able to get there a free development instance. But only one user is allowed there. If you have more, then you have to pay.

@ankit sharma the development instances have no time length limit as long as you stay within the number of users allowed for each product.

You might also be interested in keeping an eye out for our Cloud Free tier announced yesterday. Pretty soon you'll be able to have a Cloud instance with slightly higher user counts that might be useful for your needs.

Cheers,
Daniel

Hi,

I have the same question. Reading: https://blog.developer.atlassian.com/cloud-ecosystem-dev-env/ ..I understood one can get a limited users' dev environment. While following the link I can only get 7 day full trial.

So is there a free dev cloud environment or not?

Thanks in advance

Hey @Tomasz Maciejak ,

You may be seeing what looks like a 7 day free trial (and no info box about the site being a developer instance) if you're not already signed in to an Atlassian account via my.atlassian.com when trying to create a new instance.

However, with the introduction of "general usage" Free Cloud, there's no longer a need for a separate free developer instance. You can sign up for a Free instance from the pricing pages or by clicking here.

The directions for putting the site into Development Mode to install non-Marketplace apps still apply. On the Manage apps page in your instance's administration, click Settings at the bottom of the page, then check the development mode box and click Apply.

Hi Matthew,

As far as I'm aware, we don't have any tools to assist you with cloning a Cloud instance. However, you can export the issues from your production instance and import them into your development instance. If your projects are depending on any add-ons, you'll want to install those in your development instance as well.

Cheers,
Daniel
