Hello Atlassian community,
I am supervising a project which requires us to export our issues into excel.
Our process so far was to have a dedicated filter with all the columns required and then export it to csv with the current fields option. For more than 1000 issues we made use of Workaround 2 of the Export Over 1000 Results to Excel from JIRA Cloud.
This has worked so far. The last export of 9000 rows contained Tasks and Epics and as coincidence wills it rows 5000-6000 were only Tasks. This lead to the export dropping all columns related to epics as those were empty fields in that particular export. Further process is automated and lead to an error since the program couldnt handle the differently formated master list which had been compiled out of the separate exports.
Is this how the system is supposed to work or am I missing something?
Alternatively I tried using the the Jira Cloud for Excel (official) Addon in Excel which seems to be missing the parent IDs column. It's not in the selection of fields to add to the export.
Any help with either problem would help me solve this issue. Thank you.
Kind regards,
My edit seems to have removed the role information. I have admin access.
@Stefan Jandewerth If you can't fix these defects of the built-in export features, try the Better Excel Exporter app!
It scales to large number of rows (issues) and supports the Parent field.
(Discl. it is a paid and supported app developed by our team. Free for 10 users.)
