Enable timeline in a Jira project

mhoyosga October 25, 2022

Good Afternoon

I need to enable the "timeline" feature in a Jira project that does not currently have it enabled due to the template that was used to start the project, is this possible? how can i enable it?

Thank you

Hello @mhoyosga ,

I'm not sure what the "cronogram" tag is - my apologies.

The timeline feature is only available for Jira Work Management (business) projects, so it can't be turned on/off on other types of projects. You would need to create a business project and transfer issues from your current project to the business project to have the native timeline view.

Of course, you can also use a marketplace application that provides timeline functionality for other types of projects. If you have Jira Software Standard then you have a "roadmap" feature available for boards within the project. If you have Jira Software Premium then you have access to Advanced Roadmaps, which allows you to pull data in from multiple projects into a single plan.

Can you confirm which Jira product you currently have, and what type of project your issues are currently in?

Hi @mhoyosga

I am Kathrin, a marketing manager at Planyway.

You can try timeline feature in various add-ons, like Planyway. There you can group your issues by user or by project. There are also such useful options, such as a calendar, workload planning, time tracking, and reports.

I hope this is helpful.
