Issue is Company A (has Project A tracked in their own environment). Company B is a contractor with A and has no access to Company A's Jira, so they created JIRA B and started manually adding records to JIRA B by using people who has access to Company A's -Jira A board. My question is, is there a way to do this efficiently? Since syncing both companies JIRA environments is cumbersome.  Open to any suggestions.

Hi @Tmz

welcome to the Atlassian Community!

In order to synchronize issues between both instances, I'd recommend to use one of the issue sync apps from the Atlassian Marketplace. These are designed for exactly this scenario to exchange issues between different Jira instances.
Please note that I'm part of the team behind Backbone Issue Sync. Therefore, I refrain from giving a recommendation. If you want to get a demo of our app, you can book it here.

If you're looking for other ways how to collaborate between Jira instances, you can also check out my talk about Cross-Company Collaboration in Jira. I'm actually also giving this exact talk tomorrow at the ACE Bangalore which you can also join remotely.

Cheers,
Matthias.

Hi @Tmz

Welcome to the community. This is Majid @ Exalate.

As Mathias already explained, the way to do it would be to use an synchronization solution such as Exalate to set up a cross-company collaboration between the two independent Jira instances so that only selective data and selective projects are in the picture. This should be a good read to get things kicked off.

Happy syncing!

Thanks

Majid

One possible suggestion for efficiently managing both Company A's Jira and Company B's Jira is to create a Jira Service Management project that will serve as a central repository for all project requests. This way, both companies can access the same set of project requests and the progress can be monitored by all parties involved. Additionally, creating a clear process for adding records to Jira B and ensuring that only authorized employees have access to Company A's Jira can help streamline the process and minimize errors.
