Does disabling a feature delete the data?

Question

Hello, I have existing 'Releases' within Jira. If I disable the feature 'Releases', does it delete the already existing release data? Is there a retention period, or can I re-enabled 'releases' in 6 months time and all the previous releases will be visible?

Thanks for this. It was a simple solution to get the fix versions field to reappear in an issue type where it had somehow disappeared.

Thank you for reaching out.

The toggle to turn on/off the Releases feature on a project (Under project settings > Features) is just a visual restriction option.

That being said, all your created versions and linked issues will remain intact if you turn off the feature, and will be properly displayed when you turn it on again as it was before.
