Hi,
I want to document 16 linear IT processes as SOPs. I would like the documentation to integrate with Jira so every SOP exists as a Jira workflow. This will allow me to manage, track, and audit the execution of SOPs, as well as to link the SOP issues to downstream work items in Software Projects such as User Stories.
Here's my preliminary approach:
- Use Confluence to document the processes as SOPs
- Setup a Jira Work Management project to manage the execution of an SOP
- Within the new project, create an Issue Type per SOP. This will allow me to decompose the SOP into discrete steps or sub-tasks.
Is there a better way to accomplish this by using Atlassian products (+ O365, if useful), than what I have in mind?
- The large number of Issue Types (each representing a distinct SOP) will probably lead to a worse UX for the IT team
- What project templates would be fit for this purpose?
- How can we track the version of the Jira workflow to be able to prove that the workflow version matched the document version at the time of execution?
Thank you in advance.
