Jira mobile app and Jira Cloud Teams integration has a great automation "Someone mentions you".
However, say a human/bot (such as "automation for jira") user is a known spammer who mentions you unnecessarily all the time, it would be essential to stop notification from those mentions.
Basically, enhance "Someone mentions you" to "Someone except {list} mentions you."
Blocking is the wrong answer here.
You need to get the spammer to stop doing it. Why have you let a spammer into your system, and why have you not removed them? Why have you got an automation that is spamming you?
When it's an automation, then go talk to the people who added it. Why did they set it up to spam you? There's going to be a good reason they want to tell you about something, or, they've got their rules wrong. Either way, you need to ask.
Hi Sudip,
I agree, this would be nice to have as it would be the equivalent of the ability to mute a certain user.
While Jira does not currently allow users to disable notifications from specific users, you can create a new feature request for Jira Cloud here:
https://jira.atlassian.com/projects/JSWCLOUD/issues/JSWCLOUD-21477?filter=allopenissues
As a work-around in the mean time you can set up email rules to filter out emails from specific Jira users.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
It's not the email alert. The annoyance is in the automated Teams messages.

@Sudip Shrestha Ah, I see. Makes sense.
