We have our JIRA Cloud and Confluence Cloud, with Atlassian Access, with a third party IdP integrated, migrating the users to Atlassian Cloud.
However, we would like to be able to create dynamic groups based on the details of the users.
Example: cloud-department would be a group for all the users that had "Cloud" as the department detail.
This is very helpful to keep segregate permissions between different teams
@Diogo Teixeira do you have Active Directory connected to Jira? We use Active Directory groups to do this exact function.
Hello @Mathew Lederman , how are you?
Yes, our integration is with Azure AD (or Microsoft Entra as it's called now), through an Enterprise App.
However our team does not have permissions to create dynamic groups on the AzureAD side, so we wanted to do that in Atlassian Cloud, instead of AzureAD.
Currently, on AzureAD side, we basically have groups based on service we want people to use (JIRA, Confluence, etc) and their role (user/admin). This creates a lot of groups, but focused only on permissions on Atlassian Products.
What we wanted is groups based on teams to provide access to specific Confluence spaces, for example.
Best regards,
Diogo Teixeira

Understood, then I'm not sure the AD connection will work since you may need dynamic capabilities to handle changes in Confluence spaces.
