Hi,

New to Jira and see that we are not able to generate reports directly but have to export and collate it later.

What is internal script that is used to get reports and how can we learn it?

It depends what you mean by Reports...

Jira has built-in capability to produce Dashboards, which can be used for some reporting purposes.  You can add pie charts, bar charts etc. as "Gadgets" on your dashboard.  See more here:

There are also 3rd party addons available (e.g. EazyBI) which can be used to generate more powerful BI reports:
