Changing "Project Type" on JIRA Server

Hi,

This is just a quick question about changing a software project which now needs to be a "service desk" project type.

Should I go to project details and update this accordingly, what are the implications of this?

Would all issues, workflows, fields, etc be the same?

I know we might only need to sort out the request types on the portal as well as the SLA's but would anything else existing change in the project itself?

Thanks.

Almost.  JSM will add some fields and functions to your project, primarily the ability to put a "Request" in front of an Issue, but it won't change the existing fields or workflows.

It may warn you that the existing workflows won't work well for JSM projects, and you may have to accept significant changes to your permission scheme for the project (so I would make sure it is using its own permission scheme, not a shared one, before you make this change), but that's just on top of the stuff you already mentioned about having to set up and map the requests.
