Some version of this question has been asked several times over the years. What is the answer this year:

Is it possible to completely back up a data center jira configuration with all the customizations, workflows, scripts, permissions, roadmaps, etc., and then re-create it from a clean install?

If this is not available from Jira, what are the latest and greatest ways to solve this problem?

Thank you everyone in advance!

Welcome to the Community.

The answer hasn't changed - yes you can do this.  However you approach it, you should look at the core things you need to do to build a Jira server:

  • Install a Jira system
  • Configure the server/node settings in the settings file(s)
  • Give it a connection to a restored copy of the database, and re-index

I did this for creating a test system just before Christmas - I only had to edit the database connection to point to the newly restored db to make it all work.
