Can I create rules based on issue types in JIRA?

I want to create rules based on issue type in order to segregate them into different boards. for e.g. stories will be reflected in one kanban board
bugs will be visible in another board.

Hi @467_SHRUTIKA SHELKE 

You don't need to create automation rules for this. I assume that you are working on CMP. This means that every kanban board is created based on a filter. The only thing you've got to do is to create separate JQL filter which will reflect your business requirements. E.g.:

• project =project_name and issuetype = bug
• project =project_name and issuetype = story

Now head over to one of your boards:

• Click ellipsis menu > Board settings
• General > Click edit filter query
• Change your query to e.g. the first one
• Click save
• Go back to your board > board settings
• Columns > Adjust any status to be reflected properly on the kanban
• Check your board that everything looks good
• Repeat the process for the next issue type
