Can I create a Rule that triggers based on "Days In Column"?

I would like to have an automated email which sends to an assignee after their "Days in Column" reaches a certain limit.  It would be nice having this feature, so that a gentle reminder can be sent instead of having to personally contact each person when a task hasnt been updated in a week.

How do I create a Rule that triggers based on the "Days in Column"?

Hi @Spencer Smith,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

Days in Column is a calculation, it is not a function that you can use in a filter. But you could create a automation rule that looks at when the issue transitioned into a specific status and when it did it, something like this:

status = "In Progress" AND status changed to "In Progress" before "-5d"  

You could also check on when the issue was last updated like this:

status "In Progress" AND updated < -5d

Update to my previous comment: I rechecked what other options are cause I was 80% sure this will not work as I configured it before. 

So now it should work: image.png
