Hi everyone,
I’m in the process of launching a business called FreshStart Finance, which focuses on helping individuals manage their savings and investments through personalized strategies and financial guidance. We're looking to optimize how we manage internal projects and client onboarding processes using Jira and Confluence.
Here are some key challenges we face:
I'd love to hear any tips or best practices you have for:
Has anyone else in the financial sector used Jira and Confluence to streamline project management? Any templates or examples would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance for your insights!
Hi @FRESHSTART FINANCE Very good questions! If your team spends hours on creating content in Confluence and then finds that it goes unnoticed, it leads to ineffective team communication and collaboration. That's why proper usage of Confluence is crucial here.
Here are some apps that can improve how your team uses Confluence:
Content Formatting Macros - helps create more structured and visually engaging Confluence pages. Its templates and Smart Designer features save time and provide inspiration.
Guided Pathway – helps organize Confluence content into interactive guides, which is especially useful for onboarding and training.
Table Filter and Charts – assists in managing tables, creating charts, adding spreadsheets, and generating engaging reports.
Please let me know if you have any questions about the first two; they were created by my team.
Hi @FRESHSTART FINANCE I know there are other intrepid folks out there using Jira successfully for finance projects so hopefully they will contribute some of their learnings, automations, and tips soon.
I think when it comes to the automation side of things you might get further faster if you figure out what specific processes and workflows you need (which you seem to be doing already from your post), and then use transferable workflows from other sectors.
For example automating a notification or task creation when a client completes one step of their on-boarding will require the same technical structure as automations used in other industries to send notifications or create next-step tasks.
You may be able to draw on a much wider and more experienced pool of respondents if you're able to neutralize the financial services elements from your questions down to the more generic Jira language e.g. to have a new issue created for a specific team when an specific kind of issue is moved to a certain stage.
Anyhow I hope my engagement here encourages others to share their ideas and get the discussion flowing!

If you ever need a way to create different visualizations your Jira projects, or share them with stakeholders who are not up to speed with Jira then I'd be interested (especially given your use case for Jira) to see if our app (Visor) proves beneficial for you.
