This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Labeling an Issue
We want to add the Label field onto the list view item on the backlog. Is there anyway to add this field?
Can't you click the Board -> Configure -> Card Layout, and then add the Label field to the Backlog?
I'm using JIRA Sotware so perhaps this is not available for your version.
Chris
@Chris Dunne I am using the cloud version of Jira and Dont see this option for configuring Board under Jira settings. What am I missing?
UPDATE: I figured it-> Looks like it had changed a bit in the new version. :)

Where did you find it? I am looking for it also and I can't find it anywhere.

Board Settings -> Card Layout Then select the field you want displayed for Backlog and Active Sprints and then click Add

I still couldn't find it.
I am looking to show labels in the backlog view of a next-gen board.
The only workaround I can see for now is to move the issues from the backlog to a separate new silo on the board. The problem with that is the putting all the issues in our backlog on the board makes it extremely cluttered.
Can someone show us how to configure the backlog to show the labels.
Thanks!

+1 Having the same issue. And that workaround is silly.

In case anyone is still wondering:
Go to your active sprint board -> choose the "..." menu to the top right of the board-> choose Board Settings -> Card Layout
Only 3 fields can be added to the backlog and the active sprints card views.

I'm facing the same problem in Next-gen project in cloud. I can't find "Board Settings -> Card Layout " under "..." menu in sprint board nor in product backlog list view. What am I doing wrong?

You may not have admin permissions. Some users are limited in what they can do. If you do not see "Board settings" under the "..." menu, check with the admin to see if they can give you that permission.

Unfortunately, it's not the point. I have "org and site admin" permission
