Replace all username with email address.

Hello, I am using JIRA Software 8.13 server version and I am using username in format of "firstname.lastname" to login.

I want to replace all username's with the email address.

Example- if my username is "firstname.lastname" and its email address is "test@xyz.com" then I want to replace the username with "test@xyz.com".

Is there any way to replace this username?

I have tried to change using database but still it is not working

Thanks in advance,

Sid

Hi @Siddheshwar Mhetre

Changing it in database is error prone. You need to use Jira Java API. Take a look at this document for more details: https://docs.atlassian.com/software/jira/docs/api/8.19.0/com/atlassian/jira/user/util/UserManager.html

You would need ScriptRunner for Jira for doing this. Also note that renaming user will most likely break things that are based on hard coded username strings like filters or some app specific workflow conditions/validations. So you will have to identify them and fix them as well.
