Jira Server and NVDIMM memory

mathewmay72 November 16, 2020

Has anyone installed Jira Server on a server that utilized NVDIMM memory?  If so, How did it work out for you.  I am currently working on a client that brought this topic up and I have not been able to find any documentation on whether or not it is supported.

Hi mathewmay72,

there is no reason why this should not work. While it is important to have good & proper memory in a server Jira does not really "care" for the special type of memory that is used in that meaning.
Most abstraction is done through the JVM (Java Virtual Machine) and this as well takes what is exposed by the operating system.

Please see the sizing guide for Jira - while this also not mentiones or even recommends specific memory technologies. Moreover, you are also free when it comes to choose a specific manufacturer for the server, along with devices, memory and so on.
