Feel free to link up with them directly via Jira! You prefer to stay among yourselves? No problem. Just don't change anything and leave the default value “Local”/“Lokal” in the link instead.
By the way: You can not only connect to the Support family, but also to Confluence and anything in the web. The link between the Jira site automatically takes permissions into account. You therefore need access to the site and the respective projects. Otherwise, the link behaves in exactly the same way as if you were linking within an site.
