is there a way to turn of mention notifications?
we are using the Email This Issue plugin and do not have notification schemes enabled for our projects, yet mentions do seem to trigger an email from the outgoing smtp address that we have setup in the JIRA system config - this is causing duplicate emails from both JIRA and the plugin - can we disable mention notifcations or configure them better? what event do mentions generate (so that maybe we can control it better from the plugin)?
For GDPR purposes we do not want any details from our HR JIRA Project to send the normal notifications. With the automation plugin we have been able to limit the content to just notify there is a change and a link to the issue. Nothing else. So what only remains is what the "Mentions" global notification are sending, so we really would like to stop or limit this as well.
Hello @Olle Friman
How did you do : disable all Notification schemes in jira and only enable some notification through automation ?

@Sylvain Leduc you need to ensure that the project does not have a Notification Scheme assigned. Then in the Automation for Jira plug-in create a rule for each action (Issue Created/Issue Updated/Issue Commented etc.) to send an email. Make sure you specify the project in the Automation configuration.

You can turn off the 'Browse Users' global permissions and set the 'Email Visibility of users' option to hidden. Just note that this will also disable the functionality to add users to the Watchers list and change the Reporter.
