Slow batch.js loading

I have migrated a small JIRA Core from Cloud to server (1 Project)

Server i 4 x vCPU and 12 GB Ram (8 for JIRA).

Occantionally, batch.js load very, very slow...

Like 12 secs...

The instance was linked to Confluence in cloud, but no Application Links exist.

No errors in atlassian-jira.log

Typically, its TTFB - I guess thats because JIRA needs to create the "file" as its not a static file.

Time to first byte (TTFB) is a measurement used as an indication of the responsiveness of a webserver or other network resource. TTFB measures the duration from the user or client making an HTTP request to the first byte of the page being received by the client's browser.

In fact, performance issues with loading batch.js and batch.css files can be caused by several reasons:

• Jira was upgraded recently or Jira plugins were updated recently.
• Jira runs under load, many concurrent users 100+.
• Jira has many plugins injecting code in batch.js/batch.css
• Jira runs on default Java CodeCache value - 240MB
• Jira runs behind a reverse proxy on a high latency network.

The best way to properly diagnose the problem and fix it would be to follow the steps of the documentation below:

Troubleshoot long page load times in Jira server 

Can you please check if any of the scenarios and workarounds provided in the documentation work for you?

Additionally, can you confirm if you are using any Jira version between 7.8 and 7.12? There's a bug in those versions that cause the exact scenario you are facing:

- Loading of batch.js and batch.css is slow making page load time longer in JIRA

10 years of Jira here :-)

Of all the above only "Jira was upgraded recently or Jira plugins were updated recently." applies partly - as a Cloud backup was imported on a clean 8.8

Jira runs under load, many concurrent users 100+. - No (25 Users, 1 project, 50 issues)

Jira has many plugins injecting code in batch.js/batch.css - No

Jira runs on default Java CodeCache value - 240MB - No

JVM_CODE_CACHE_ARGS='-XX:InitialCodeCacheSize=32m -XX:ReservedCodeCacheSize=512m'

Jira runs behind a reverse proxy on a high latency network. - Its behind a proxy yes, but not a  high latency network

Some testing later.... eliminating proxy and starting from JIRA Sagfe mode..

Its the Mindville Insight plugin....

Sure, they have released a few versions since. We dont see the issue anymore. batch.js is still huge/slow - but thats more a common issue

We are currently on the latest version, I dont think we have any "speed" issues as such - but lets face it, Jira is no racing horse - Insight neither....
