How to switch the database manually over config in the termnal

andreas.nowak November 22, 2021

I'm starting x as demanded in https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/connecting-jira-applications-to-oracle-938846856.html

than start the config.sh.

I can't write back and got several errors.

Is it possible to manually change the config?

I've changed the content in the dbconfig.xml, but when starting I would be asking for a new database...

Why?

Yes sure. All database config are in a file named "dbconfig.xml" that you can find in the root of your Jira home folder. This file must be accessible/readable by the system user launching the Jira process

Can you also check the location of your Jira home folder (<jira-application-dir>/atlassian-jira/WEB-INF/classes/jira-application.properties) ?

hello,

sorry: it doesn't work.

I changed the settings in the one and only dbconfig.xml from oracle11 to oracle19.

Is there any additional config demanded?

We only change the url.

We copied before the oracle user to the new db.

But the result was:

Database: JIRA couldn't connect to your database

JIRA failed to establish a connection to your database.
This could be because:

    Your database isn't running
The configuration of your dbconfig.xml file is incorrect (user, password, or database URL etc.)
There is a network issue between JIRA and your database (e.g. firewall, database doesn't allow remote access etc.)

Is there any further suggestion/hint?
