Starting with Jira is the right choice :-)
In case you want to start with training I can absolutetly recommend the training for Jira - some courses are even free:

If you prefer a more light-weighted start you can watch some guided tutorials, directly here in Community.

Community here is a great place for exchange and asking questions. In case you want to come back on a regular basis (what always is a great idea!) here are some tips and tricks - along with some opportunities to have fun what can be relaxing after a day full of learning.
