Hi,
I've been looking at site uptime monitoring tools that integrate with JSM Cloud. Most of them do it via webhooks and it works ok but it has limitations.
I wondered if anyone out there has been through the same process?
We are using Pingdom, I have a few ways of communicating with JSMC, I can send alerts using the JIRA project email or use webhooks that Automation can digest to create an issue when a site becomes unresponsive. That's ok but it's a bit limited. For instance, what I'd really like is that when Pingdom reports the site is back up, the previously created Issue gets updated or even resolved.
Maybe some automation magic could do this?
I looked at using Statuspage too but on top of the initial cost of Pingdom, it was too expensive.
Like I said I wondered if any else has been through this process and has any info on other monitoring services that maybe integrate better with JIRA.
Cheers!
Nick
Did you ever come up with a solution?
I'm currently trying to write a Scriptrunner script to do what it sounds similar to what you want. Just a simple site status checks that would do something in Jira, like create an issue or transition an issue to "site down". I'm not groovy-fluent, so using ChatGPT and the Scriptrunner Library in an attempt to solve this without asking for help.
If you found a solution, would you consider sharing?
If you haven't found a solution, would you be interested in whatever I end up making?
