Set approved version dashboard

Hi
This is what I want to achieve: I want to make a dashboard where the project managers can specify e.g. some versions or labels. Then these versions / labels should be accessible through the rest API so that this information can be accessed in e.g. pre-commit hooks and other python scripts
I have tried to make a dahsboard with a text gadget, but I cannot get the text from the gadget through the REST API (this is not possible if I have understood right).
Are there some global / static fields which can be defined, which are the same for all issues within a project?
