Error migrating Database (Postgres to sqlserver)

ewsscm April 1, 2020

We were trying to migrate Jira to a new instance and a new DB (from postgresql to sqlserver). We followed the steps mentioned here

https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver072/migrating-jira-applications-to-another-server-828787651.html

For prod instance we get this error

Exception while executing the following:INSERT INTO jiraschema.jiraaction (ID, issueid, AUTHOR, actiontype, actionlevel, rolelevel, actionbody, CREATED, UPDATEAUTHOR, UPDATED, actionnum) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?) (The conversion of a datetime2 data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value.))

Hi,

while it is hard to pinpoint the error with just one single answer and without further debugging/logs I came across a very interesting read which might be related to your problem (at least from the error message).

Please kindly check if the topic applies to you or if you can at least start further investigation upon the information Andy put into here.

Cheers,
Daniel
