"A day in the life" of a Finance worker

Hi everyone! 

Hope you had restful weekends. Every Monday, I like to make a big to-do list of tasks I need to knock out. Sometimes, when I'm really busy, I'll even map out each day, even penciling in time for a walk or for lunch. And being the nosy person I am, I want to know what "a day in the life" looks like you YOU!

Feel free to go into as much or as little detail as you'd like! This can be specific to the routine of a Finance worker, or can follow you on a day off :). 

Here's a "day in the life" of me, Bridget:

Wake up

Go swimming (when CA wildfires aren't making the air too smoky)

Log on to Slack to check in

Daily standup for a Customer Experience Project I'm working on

Log on to Community to see what's going on

Focused work knocking off small tasks from my to-do

Make espresso

Joke around on Slack with the Community team 

Focused work writing Confluence blog (for example)

More meetings

Log off

Make dinner

Mountain Bike / Run / Watch TV if it's too smoky outside! 

Read 

Sleep

Hope this finds you well.

I also find myself in this process mapping of all day thing. It helps me prioritize my tasks and never to be taken by surprise by them.

Now, here's a day of Ionut's life:

Wake up (usually woke by a helicopter or a ship since I'm in a Port City)

Admire the view with a coffee or a green tea by my side:

Daily Standup for a finance Project

"Crush" all the small tasks in the morning while listening to Rock Fm

Working on a Confluence Knowledge base

Lunch

Meetings

Log off

Gym

Make a few pictures of the clear sky from an empty park:

Take a Linkedin course or read (now reading "The personal MBA")

Power off :)

Sounds like your day is very balanced - work, physical fitness, and also creative pursuits! Really cool photos as well.

I'm obviously behind the times....what is a "Daily Standup"

I try to always do some useful things on the weekends, but then I leave myself time to rest. Usually, I tidy up my house, mark all my goals for the week in my diary, and check my financial situation through the playlouder.com app. This usually doesn't take me more than 15 minutes. I still try to keep a diary, communicate with friends, read something interesting. I try to move forward no matter what, no matter what the challenges. And it makes the day easier, the main thing is to distract me from work and enjoy the day off.
