February 11 is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The day was established by the United Nations to promote gender equality in science by encouraging the participation of women and girls in science fields.
Today, women hold only 30% of jobs in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), and many girls lose interest in these disciplines as they approach adolescence.
How do you encourage more girls to study STEM and stick with it? One way is by showing them examples of women who have successful careers in STEM.
