JIRA Plugin development to get all users in system

Daniel Burke December 21, 2017

Hi All,

Which Plugin type would be best to retrieve all users and their roles etc in JIRA?

I'm trying to Develop my own Plugin which will export all of my users in my entire JIRA application but cannot find the best way to do it.

I'm currently trying to make a report plugin, but the tutorial seems a bit out-dated.

Does anybody have any experience doing this?

You can use JIRA Java API for this purpose in your plugin.

https://docs.atlassian.com/DAC/javadoc/jira/7.1.0-m01/reference/com/atlassian/jira/bc/user/search/UserSearchService.html

public List<ApplicationUserfindUsersAllowEmptyQuery (JiraServiceContext jiraServiceContext, String query)

Get Users based on a query string.

Matches on start of username, full name and email as well as all the tokenised (on spaces, '.', '@' etc) words This will search even if the query passed is null or empty. Only returns active users.

Results are sorted according to the UserCachingComparator.
