placing a link to a previously uploaded file no longer possible?

I started working with Confluence quite extensively, but in the last days something changed, so that I am no longer able to add a link to previously uploaded files.

In the past, the [Ctrl+K] opened a dialog (it still does on the serve version) where one could search for the files using the filename. In the cloud version I'm using for other clients, this dialog disapeared, and only a short-link drop down appears, but only showing other pages, but not uploaded files.

And the shortcut '[' does no longer work either (already some questions posted about this here)

Thanks for your help

Hi @Christian_Hahn

If you're working in the new editor, the answer is that you can only search for recent pages. This is an intentional decision by Atlassian. There's an issue opened to address this:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-65363

And the shortcut '[' does no longer work either (already some questions posted about this here)

The shortcut for macros in the new editor is now /.

There's been a ton of conversation about all this over the past months. A pretty decent place to see if a particular feature is still available in the new Cloud editor is here:

@Dan Winkler Thank you for providing the answer on this!

@Christian_Hahn, I'm happy to tell you that recently this feature has moved into In Progress status, and it's something we're actively working on to bring to Confluence in the future.

The feature is still possible in the legacy editor. If you need to create pages with the legacy editor, you can use the information shared by our product manager on the thread below:

Thanks again, and take care!

Shannon
