Viewing user history

Brian Woitte October 10, 2022

I am attempting to perform an audit of a users activity using Confluence Cloud. What spaces they visited and any changes they may have made across the site.

Is there a way to do this? From change management to security, I reckon there is a way.

Hello @Brian Woitte ,

what you want is now possible with the Viewtracker app. Find more information here.

Firstly, you need to be a Confluence administrator to view the tool that will help you : audit log.

The audit log helps you to have a look on the modifications made on your site.

To access to the audit log  :

1. Go to the icon setting on the top right on your Confluence panel.

Picture1.png2. Scroll down the left hand menu and click on the audit log under Administration.

3. In the Audit log tool, you have many information :

a. You can search by keyword and in your case by users.

b. You can filter by time and dates.

c. You can export the log into CSV format.

d. You can set how long the data of the events are saving.

e. You can expand and get a detail view of each event.

4. You can filter by the names of the users to get the specific modifications

The audit log contains information about modifications relatives to spaces (creating, edit delete, etc.), the users groups and permissions (add, change, edit, etc.) and changes about the global permissions.

Be aware that the events in audit log are removed after 90 days but you can choose to modify it.

This is the way !
