I'm not quite understand about rebuilding the index. Could you provide step by step procedure to resolve this issue?
I thought this is bug from your Confluence platform. I didn't modify any settings after i checked my history.
General access to content indexing is disabled by default, and can only be done by the System Administrator. To enable content indexing, contact Atlassian Cloud Technical Support at https://support.atlassian.com.

This block is "unchecked". Please see attached photo.
I tried to check and unchecked the box and check try mention with @<NAME>. It's not working.

Usually input methods may cause this problem, you can try to press shift first, then press shift + 2.
Or you can try Insert more content to choose to type @
By the way, the following post also mentioned that rebuilding the index may solve this problem.

i'm using cloud-based Confluence. Please take note. I saw the rebuilding index is for confluence with own server. Correct me if i'm wrong.
