I am trying to watch a calendar per instructions documented on this page https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/watch-a-calendar/ but no option to watch the calendar is available.
Is there some settings I should change for the calendar to allow watchers?

I would check if there are any restrictions set on the calendar or additional page restrictions.
