Migrating and upgrading Confluence

IT Support October 22, 2017

Hi There,

At the moment we are running a project to migrate our confluence application to a new hardware with an updated operating system.

On the existing hardware we have windows server 2003 running and confluence firmware 3.5.13

We now have a new environment, windows server 2012 R2 where we want to install the updated version of Confluence

I do understand that we could not jump to the latest version but we need to first install 3.5.13 on the new machine, upgrade to 5.0.3 then to the latest version.

Upgrade Confluence 3.5.13 to latest version on bra...

We have downloaded the installer for 3.5.13 and after extracting we do not understand how to run the application to get it running before upgrading to 5.0.3

Could you please explain the steps to install the application on the new hardware ?

On the new server, we intend to install Microsoft SQL server 2014 or 2012 to run with the 3.5.13 confluence version.

Could you please provide us with a temporary trial license of confluence  with full access to be sure that there is no limitation on our new server before transferring our existing license to the new server. this is because we are not sure if we use our license on the new hardware, it will stop the confluence on the production environment which we cannot afford.

Please find below the zip content of the 3.5.13 that we download, please advise the next steps of Action.Capture.PNG

Kind Regards,

Jimi

@IT Support You can just use one of your development/test licenses.  These can be generated in the license portal. https://www.atlassian.com/licensing/data-center#data-center-developer-license Then after you perform the upgrade you can just update the license.
