Keep links in template updated?

We've created several templates that are largely checklists. Some checklist items include a link to an existing page in the same instance of Confluence.

If a page represented by one of these links is moved or renamed, the link is broken. I understand the reasoning behind this as links are not indexed like pages are, but I'm wondering if any tools exist to report on broken links in templates?

Have others had to  address this scenario? If no tools, is there a viable workaround?

I've tried it on my cloud instance. I created a template with links in a checklist to pages. I then created a page based on the template. Then I changed the page names of the linked pages and move some of them to other spaced. The links in the page created from the template still worked after those changes. So, from what I'm seeing it should still work.

I'm sorry I didn't see your reply sooner.

In the scenario you've laid out I would expect things to work, as you've created a page with the template and both it and the changed page(s) will be indexed.

Our issue is the template itself, which includes links. The links in the templates break if the page they reference changes.
