Found a bug with the TOC macro when printing "Confluence page" to PDF

Nancy Greenfield October 11, 2021

Repeatable conditions:

  1. Use the Table of Contents macro
  2. Have H1, H2 and H3 on your page
  3. Configure the TOC macros to display Min H2 and Max H2
Note: Save the Confluence page and the TOC displays perfectly.
  4. In the upper right corner menu, select Export to PDF.
  5. Select Confluence page layout (from Article, Confluence page layout, Documentation) (Note: results will be the same regardless of whether or no you include child pages.)
  6. Export the page.
  7. Recurring problem: the PDF file that is created has an extra bullet point in front of the first TOC bullet (that does not display on the Confluence page), indenting all of the heading bullets and showing two bullets on the first line.  It is repeatable and didn't happen when using other heading style combinations and exporting to PDF.  (- It's not a high priority, because there are probably few people using Confluence Server and this TOC configuration and printing to PDF, but it is an annoyance for the few users who discover it and redo their pages looking to resolve some formatting error they may have made. )
