Confluence only as "wiki - how to do " without editing

Stefan M October 10, 2022

I want to use confluence as a wiki for users in a small company. If an employee had a problem they could handle it themselves with the help of the wiki. Ideally he should not have to log in or be able to edit an article.
Is it possible to set up confluence this way?

Im using Confluence > Jira Service Management and app Helpdesk for ms teams.

Hi @Stefan M and welcome to the community!

You can use anonymous access to do that. Create the space/wiki with all info and the allow anonymous access for view only. This will allow ALL internet user to have access to that space. Read more here:

So most likely you have to speak with an admin to do that for you.

This is Jira Global Permissions and not confluence..

Somehow it happened that I did not have administrator privileges and therefore did not see the option in confluence.
After changing the options from the link and on the space settings page itself, the site is accessible without logging in.

I have one more question
If I want to make a wiki for the employees of my organization with login and accounts for each of them I have to buy a subscription? Is the subscription only for administrators - people who write articles?
