From what I've read so far, when using Jira and Confluence together, we can't use the site export to import an entire site. (Which is nuts because you can't recover the site when someone deletes it.)
But can I use the site export to recover specific spaces? Or do I need to make a manual backup of each separate space to make sure we can recover a space when someone deletes it?
I am trying to create a process where we can recover our information when someone deletes the information (by accident). How can this enormous risk be mitigated?
Hi Bas,
Thank you for raising this on Atlassian Community. Indeed, if you need to recover a specific space from the full site export, you must first import the site export to another location and then create your space export from that.
Our recommendation is to import the site export to a temporary Confluence Server or Cloud instance. You can refer to the information on Migrating from Confluence Cloud to Confluence Cloud.
If you have any difficulty, please let us know.
Take care,

Hi,
you should be able to use the backup file created in the backup manager in System settings.
