In database fields, we regularly want to link with existing (non-Confluence) datasets in other systems.
We can already link fields with existing Confluence databases.
It would be great if we could define new Confluence databases based on links with external datasets. This would enable that we use corporate master data in our Confluence databases.
One of the (easier?) use cases could be to have fields linked with assets (jql?) in Jira. (There is an Assets macro available in Confluence, but is has nothing to do with Confluence Databases)
