Confluence Cloud has entered the (Microsoft Teams) chat

👋 Hey Team, I’m Tygrr a Product Manager for the Confluence Cloud for Microsoft Teams app.

Last August, we launched a new Confluence for Microsoft Teams app, and I’m excited to announce that we’ve made it even better: Confluence pages can be viewed, edited, and created, directly within Teams — with the same macros and functionality you know and love.

Without leaving Teams, you can now:

✅ Create a new Confluence page that looks just like the native experience

✅ Add rich formatting and macros to an embedded Confluence page

✅ Edit embedded Confluence pages in real-time with teammates

✅ Respond to in-line comments

Teams and Confluence users now have a new hub for team collaboration and knowledge management.

👀 See it in action with these interactive demos

Adding Confluence Cloud to Microsoft Teams is easy!

Edit your Confluence pages without leaving the chat

Add existing Confluence pages to a Tab

Create a new Confluence page

The best part? The Confluence for Teams app is free and can be used with any edition of Confluence cloud (including the free versions).

Hi @Tygrr DosRemedios - is there a way to prevent people from creating a new Confluence instance using the new Teams function? I've already gotten one "1 product created outside <ourdomain>" notification and had to reach out to the user who created a new instance of Confluence.

The user saw the capability, and tried to create a page in our existing instance of Confluence but could not because he did not have an account. Instead of asking for an account, he just set up a new instance and created his page there. Now we need to move the content and shut down the new instance - seems like an ongoing hassle for sys admins like me if there's no way to prevent that.

Is this update now active?

I don't seem to be able to edit confluence pages in Teams.

I see an "Edit" button (the pen) but it just redirects and opens the page in my browser.

Is there a way to force an update to get these new features?
