Cannot save a repository using Chrome v83 and other Chromium based browsers such as Edge

Hello Bamboo Community,

I'm Jey from Bamboo Support team.

If you have upgraded your Chrome browser to version 83 recently, it is observed that the save operation just spins and never completes when we define a new linked repository or update an existing one by clicking on 'Save repository' button.

Testing has shown that the action has actually completed just that the result has not been communicated back to the browser.

The bug appears to be related to the following Chrome issues and appears to only affect https traffic.

The workaround, for now, would be to use a different browser. If you prefer to stay in Chrome, you may just refresh the page. This will already reflect the update you have made as the page wouldn't just auto-refresh due to this bug.

Please note, this also affects other Chromium based browsers built off the affected version of Chrome e.g:

  • Microsoft Edge 83.0.478.37

[Update] Resolution:
Google has released an updated version of Chrome, 83.0.4103.97 which includes a fix for this issue. Please update and restart Chrome, then try to create or modify your repository.

Microsoft Edge 83.0.478.45 also has the fix.

It affects other saving actions in the UI too (but not all), such as:

  • Triggers
  • SSH / SCP Tasks
  • Shared Credentials
