[AI editing across Atlassian products] Welcome to beta!

Hi there! I’m Tom, an Atlassian Group Product Manager.

Building on our beta release of AI in the Confluence Editor, I’m excited to announce that we’re expanding our AI beta to the editing experiences across more of our cloud products. Namely, Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Jira Work Management, Trello, Bitbucket, and Atlas. You can now use AI to generate, transform, and summarize content that you’re creating or editing across these products!

Once activated by an admin, you and your teams will be able to access Atlassian Intelligence from the editor toolbar, or by typing /ai within the editor. The functionality looks and works similarly across Atlassian products but we expect the way you’ll use AI when creating and editing content will vary between products. Here are a few use cases across the products we’ve made it available in:

Confluence: Write first drafts, improve existing writing, and summarize long-form content. See how it works

Jira Software: Boost efficiency by more quickly writing user stories, updating issues, and clarifying comments. See how it works

jsw ai.png

Jira Service Management: Summarize ticket progress, save time writing clear, concise descriptions, and craft more professional responses. See how it works

jsm ai.png

Jira Work Management: Generate ideas for any project, find action items, draft timelines, and write more impactful comments to move work forward. See how it works

Trello: Brainstorm new content, or summarize and improve what you already have in card descriptions and comments

Bitbucket: Summarize and/or improve commit messages and pull request descriptions

Atlas: Share more effective progress updates by shortening them to 280 characters or less

As we continue to develop the product, shape its direction, and iron out kinks during the beta, we’re excited to hear how you’ll utilize the feature for each product in your workflow! This is the place to ask questions, share thoughts and feedback, and discuss the new functionality with myself and the product team. Whatever you have to say - we want to hear it.

While this group will be used to discuss a variety of Atlassian Intelligence features as they become available, I’ll continue to share updates focused on this feature. Stay tuned for more!

Cheers,

Tom Gilbert | Atlassian Group Product Manager

Hey @Tom Gilbert

I recently (a few hours ago) added AI to Atlas, JSW, and JWM, but I'm not seeing these cool and exciting features you are mentioning here. Is there anything additional I'm supposed to do from my side to enable this?

Thanks in advance!

Hey @Tom Gilbert I'm not seeing the option to add Intelligence to Jira etc. I see the option for JSM, Confluence, and Atlas, but not Jira itself. We are most excited for Jira based on this announcement to get it into our users hands.

I'm not seeing the new capabilities released to my environment for Jira even though it's already enabled for query searches? is there another step we have to do to enable this new AI feature?

We already had AI Beta activated for Jira Software, JSM and Confluence activated. I have now activated for Altas and can now use the AI option when creating Updates there.

However, as per some other comments here, I am not seeing the Summarise or able to use the /ai command for editing content in Jira issue comments or description fields.

Hey @Tom Gilbert

We have enabled AI for Confluence and Atlas, but the option to enable it for Jira is not available. Is there something we're missing?

Thanks in advance!

Are these two features working for anyone yet, who has AI Beta activated for Jira Software and JSM?

  • Jira Software: Boost efficiency by more quickly writing user stories, updating issues, and clarifying comments.
  • Jira Service Management: Summarize ticket progress, save time writing clear, concise descriptions, and craft more professional responses.

Hi all - thank you for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry that you've had some difficultly activating AI in the editing experiences across the products you've mentioned.

Can you please email me on tgilbert@atlassian.com with the site names (e.g. acme.atlassian.net) for the products that you're trying to activate Atlassian Intelligence for? I'll then work with the team here to investigate this for you.

We only got AI for Atlas. How can we add it to Jira/bitbucket?

Thanks @Tom Gilbert have reached out via email.

Jira Software AI text editing tool is available and working fine for us now as of  today.

But we're finding in Jira Service Management that while editing tool is available and all the options are presenting, when executing any of them we always get a "We couldn't get a response, please try again." error message.

@Tom Gilbert  - i reached out via email as well looking for support on why the new capabilities are not being added to our environment.  We already have the query search but the new jira functions for /ai are not enabled

Hi, I recently added AI to JSW becouse other products are not visible in product selection, but I´m not seeing AI icon in my issue editor.  I´m seeing AI icon only in Issue Filter. Is possible that AI features are rolling slowly and for separately components in JSW?

@Daniella Latham it seems that Tom's email is disabled as I just got a bounce. Anyone else who can help us?

I'm not seeing anything like what you demo on the Confluence content editing video. Also don't see all the cool stuff demo for Jira except for brainstorming and summarize.
