Hi everyone,
The Admin Experience team is excited to share an update about managed account search.
What is it?
Managed account search is a feature in Admin Hub (https://admin.atlassian.com/) allowing admins to search for every user in an organization’s verified domain.
What’s changing?
We take your feedback extremely seriously, and are committed to our values of keeping customers at the center of what we do, as well as being transparent about what we’re working on. To that end, some customers were receiving lengthly search results, and we wanted to make searching faster, easier, and simpler.
In technical terms, our team replaced the old sub-string behavior with a more natural prefix search that works across an account’s first name, last name, and email address.
This change means you’ll see more narrowed search results, and experience an easier, faster way to find who you were searching for in Admin Hub.
Here are the outlined changes:
Fully qualified email addresses – Search will only return unique results for fully qualified email addresses. For example, bob@acme.com matches bob@acme.com but not alice@acme.com
First/last name prefixes - Search will only return results that match the prefix. There is no longer any in-fix or sub-string matching. For example, “Ali” matches “Alice Doe” and “Ali Doe”, while “Alice” only matches “Alice Doe”.
Email address prefixes - Search will only return results that match username or domain name prefixes. For example, “ali” matches alice@acme.com and bob@alien.net, but not bob@palindrome.net

Tell us what you think.
We’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback about these changes. There are more improvements to come, and we will continue to keep you updated along the way.
