Updates to Marketplace Terms of Use effective February 28th

Hi there, Atlassian Community!

As you may know, the Atlassian Marketplace is ever-changing. As such, we’re adapting the Atlassian Marketplace Terms of Use to reflect recent changes. Review the new Atlassian Marketplace Terms of Use.

By using the Atlassian Marketplace after March 31, 2019, you or your organization agrees to our new Terms of Use. Please note any apps already installed will remain subject to the version of the Terms of Use that were in place at the time of installation. Beginning March 31st, the new Terms of Use will apply to new installs and general use of the Atlassian Marketplace. If you are not willing to accept the new Terms of Use, please do not use the Atlassian Marketplace or install any new apps after March 31, 2019.

Some of the changes in our new Terms of Use include:

  • Updating our terminology (e.g., replacing "Add-on" with "App," "Publisher" with "Vendor," etc.)

  • Adding a new section on Data Collection and Sharing, where we explain (a) that any of your data that is collected, shared, or used by Atlassian is covered by the Atlassian Privacy Policy, (b) what happens when you grant rights to your data to third party app vendors, and (c) how Atlassian and third party app vendors collect and use non-personally identifiable technical information for analytics

  • Explaining the relationships between Marketplace users, third party app vendors, and Atlassian

  • Describing how our App Programs work

  • Clarifying how orders, returns, and trials work

  • Defining what is allowed when providing reviews for Marketplace apps

Please click here to review the new Atlassian Marketplace Terms of Use. Thanks for reading, and feel free to comment below with any questions you might have.

Would you please provide a diff of the two which shows the changes?

You (including anyone acting on your behalf) may not review or comment on your own App, an App owned by a company you work for, or those of competitors. As an exception, you may provide informational responses to support requests or other inquiries directed to you within the reviews or comments section of your App listing.

Are the current reviews on own apps from vendors going to be automatically removed?

Best,
Sebastian.

@Boris Berenberg - Atlas Authority  You can review the upcoming changes by comparing them to our current terms here. The substantive updates are intended to improve user trust in the cloud side of the Marketplace as well as support user interactions with the Marketplace.

The biggest changes are intended to update terminology and add clarity and detail to how the Marketplace works. Those areas of change include:

  • Section (2) Clarifying how orders, returns, and trials work

  • Section (4) Adding a new section on Data Collection and Sharing

  • Section (4) Explaining relationships between Marketplace users, third party app vendors, and Atlassian

  • Section (5) Defining guidelines on providing reviews for Marketplace apps

  • Section (8.1) Describing how our App Programs work

Please note that if you are not willing to accept the new terms, we ask that you do not use the Atlassian Marketplace or install any new apps after March 31, 2019.

@Sebastian Brudziński At this time, there is no plan to automatically remove any existing reviews.
